Using 3D Touch Quick Actions on iOS

Introduction

On supported devices, you can use 3D Touch on the Pocket app icon to quickly access useful actions in pocket. Here’s everything you need to know to get the most out of this feature.

Using 3D Touch with Pocket

3D Touch was introduced with the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, and is available on newer devices as well. When you press on your screen with a bit of force, you can access additional functionality.

When you 3D Touch on the Pocket icon on your Home Screen, you’ll see the following actions:

  • Save Copied Link - Quickly save a URL that you copied to your clipboard. This is now the fastest way to save stories and links from Facebook - just copy the link in the Facebook app and save it to Pocket via 3D Touch!
  • Resume Reading or Watching - Directly return to the last item you were reading or watching on this device.
  • Recommendations - Looking for something new and interesting to read? Tap Recommendations to jump directly into your feed.
  • Surprise Me! - Don’t want to hunt for something to read? Tap Surprise Me! to open a random item from your List that you haven’t read yet.


You’ll also see the Pocket Widget when you use 3D Touch on the Pocket app icon. It will show your recently saved item so you can open it directly! Click here to learn about the Pocket Widget.
