Recommending items on Pocket
When you recommend items on Pocket, they’ll appear in your profile and your followers’ Discover feeds.
At a minimum, you can recommend just a link. However, we also suggest including a comment to explain why you’re recommending it. You can even add your favorite quote from articles as well. Continue reading to learn how to recommend items on Pocket.
Recommending an item on iOS
On your iOS device you can recommend an item by tapping Recommend in the share menu. You’ll then be able to add a comment and decide whether your link and comment will be posted on Twitter. You can also add an optional quote, or excerpt, from the article that you’re recommending. To do this, first highlight the text you’d like to quote, and then tap the Recommend button in the popup.
Recommending an item on Android
On your Android phone or tablet:
- Open the item in Pocket
- Tap the share icon in the top toolbar.
- Tap Recommend
You’ll be able to add a comment and decide whether your link and comment will be posted on Twitter.
You can also add an optional quote, or excerpt, from the article that you’re recommending. To do this, first highlight the text you’d like to quote, and then tap the Recommend button. It’ll appear in the top toolbar, or in the text selection popup if you’re using Android Marshmallow (6.0) or above.
Recommending an item on Web
In your browser, you can recommend an item by opening it in Pocket and tapping the Share button. It’s located on the top right in the toolbar. You’ll then be able to add a comment before posting it to your profile.
You can also add an optional quote, or excerpt, from the article that you’re recommending. To do this:
- Highlight the text you’d like to quote
- Click Share
- Tap Recommend
