Reading in Pocket on your Computer

Introduction

When you open articles to read on the Pocket website, you’ll find an array of custom reading options and a comfortable, clutter-free reading experience.

Opening your saved items

When you open an item in your list or archive, articles will be displayed in Article View. This distraction-free, easy to read format is designed to deliver the best reading experience in Pocket.

When viewing other items such as PDFs, message board posts, and other non-article webpages, they will open in a separate tab in their original form. In Pocket’s mobile apps for iOS and Android, this is referred to as web view.

Item Actions in article view

Use the item action buttons in the toolbar to take actions on the item you’re viewing: highlight, tag, favorite, archive, delete, or share. Click the “aA” button to open the display options menu. On the far left side, click the arrow button to return to your list.

Display Options

You can customize article view to create your ideal reading experience. In the display options menu, you can control font style, text size, and background color.

In Pocket Premium, you can customize even further with margin, line height and spacing options, and access 8 additional fonts. Click here to learn more about expanded display options available in Pocket Premium.

Sharing an Item

Click the Share button in the toolbar at the top of the webpage to view your sharing options. You can share to your favorite social network, and recommend the story to your profile and friends that follow you in Pocket.

Click "View Original" right below the article title to open the link outside of Pocket.
